Whole family care during pregnancy and in the postpartum
A Postpartum Visit Might Include:
- Quiet nonjudgemental support and companionship
- Teaching newborn care, i.e. soothing, bathing, sleeping, etc.
- Supporting siblings and partners to “mother the mother”
- Help with breast, chest, or bottle feeding
- Light cooking and/or shopping
- Laundry and household tidying
- Taking care of baby while you shower, rest, or take a few minutes to yourself
- Making sure you are fed and hydrated
- Referrals to experienced professionals when appropriate
Some families find support within the first two weeks critical while others wait until visiting family has departed. The average visit is around 3 hours, but we can be flexible to meet your needs.
Regular hours for postpartum support are from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm and the rate of $45/hour
Occasionally people find themselves on bed rest or just needing extra support during pregnancy and could use similar support to the services offered in the postpartum period.
An Antepartum Visit Might Include:
- Quiet non-judgemental support and companionship
- Running errands or shopping
- Meal preparation
- Laundry and household tidying
- Making sure you are fed and hydrated
- Referrals to experienced professionals when appropriate
- Setting up the “nursery”
Regular hours for prenatal support are from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at the rate of $35/hour

Reimbursement:
Many Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) will also allow reimbursement or direct payment for our services, please check with your company. If you have Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance or the Catamount Program and are enrolled in Better Beginnings, you are eligible to be reimbursed for 9 hours of postpartum care under “homemaker services”.
